In the three video clips, young people who stammer explain how much their friends help them.

When you stammer it's much easier to manage your speech in oral work if you feel confident about yourself and can take part without worrying what others may think. Talking to your friends can be very helpful here, as you can share your feelings with them.

Be a good friend

Act as a good friend yourself by listening to their concerns as well. You may be surprised to find that they have just as many worries as you do about schoolwork.

Good relationships with other young people will help you to build your confidence and self-esteem as you realise that they like you for the person you are and probably don't even notice that you stammer.

The more confident you feel the better you will do in your English oral work.
