If you stammer it's always helpful to build your confidence in talking by taking part in  group readings. As you know, you are not likely to stammer when you speak at the same time as other pupils.

This experience of fluency will show you that you can take part with other pupils and you'll gain more confidence in talking. In the video clip, Emma, who stammers, has agreed to take part at the last minute and is showing that she's ready to join in with the others.

It's a good idea to volunteer for class presentations or performances when you talk in a group, as this will help to build your confidence in talking. Then you may feel able to talk on your own at a later stage.
